Rider early cancellation
When a rider cancels more than 24 hours before scheduled departure, SeatShare targets a refund of the rider contribution. Service fees may be non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise in-app.
This policy explains what happens when riders cancel, drivers cancel, requests expire, or a trip is disputed. Last updated May 28, 2026.
When a rider cancels more than 24 hours before scheduled departure, SeatShare targets a refund of the rider contribution. Service fees may be non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise in-app.
When a rider cancels within 24 hours of scheduled departure, SeatShare may refund 50% of the rider contribution and may compensate the driver with the remaining contribution share.
When a driver cancels a booking or host trip, SeatShare targets a full rider refund, including the service fee, subject to processor timing and any already-resolved special case.
If a booking request expires, is declined, or is withdrawn before confirmation, SeatShare targets release or refund of the full rider amount collected or authorized for that request.
No-show, unsafe conduct, route mismatch, pickup failure, or payment disputes may require review. SeatShare may consider timestamps, messages, reports, trip status, and payment records.
Approved card refunds can take 5-10 business days to appear depending on banks and card networks. Authorization releases may appear sooner or later depending on issuer rules.
Driver payouts clear after the post-trip dispute window. SeatShare currently uses a 4-day clearing window before payout release processing.
